teleSUR correspondent in Venezuela said Venezuelan immigration Police were securing the border point and that members of the Venezuelan army were deployed at the scene.

A group of low-level soldiers of the Venezuelan National Guard Saturday took over multiple armored vehicles that belong to the Venezuelan force and rammed into border barriers at the Venezuelan-Colombian border in a staged operation ordered by right-wing opposition members in Colombia.

According to teleSUR reporters at the scene, armored vehicles of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) rammed into the Venezuelan security barrier installed in the Simon Bolivar international bridge and then three attackers fled to Colombia where they were received by two leaders of the Venezuelan far right.

Securing the border point

teleSUR correspondent in Venezuela Madeleine García said that Venezuelan immigration Police were securing the border point and that members of the Venezuelan army were deployed at the scene. “Three soldiers were moved to Colombian territory, but not all the armed forces of Venezuela.”

bbc interviews maduro.jpgOrla Guerin, BBC News

As we sit here, there is US aid across the border in Colombia. We have met many people here who tell us they are desperately in need of aid. Why not allow it through?

Nicolás Maduro, Venezuelan president

First of all, it’s a show, that the United States government has set up with the compliance of the Colombian government to humiliate the Venezuelans. Venezuela is a country that has the capacity to satisfy all the necessities of our people.

Venezuela is a country that has problems like any country. We are in a battle that has been going on for many years, a successful battle, to reduce poverty, misery, in order to increase the job capacity, to establish a social security system to protect 100% of our pensioners, in order to establish a public health system that reaches all the Venezuelan…

Si yo no fuera cubano

February 7, 2019

if i were not cuban.jpeg

If I were not Cuban, how many things I would have lost, how much Creole substance, how much laughter and handshakes. If the stork had thrown me in other latitudes, I would not have grown up with the doors of my house always open in the middle of a rural, quiet and picturesque neighborhood. I would not have graduated as a university student without paying a penny.

I would be missing the photos next to the bust of Marti in the primary school, the memory of parents tying scarves around their young children’s necks, the din of the neighborhood in the 1972 Olympics after Teofilo Stevenson’s fulminating knockout on the prominent and square jaw Yankee Duanne Bobbick, who was nicknamed “The White Hope” and, hope at last, it was eaten by the goat, even though it was not green.

If I…

NOTE:   Sign the petition HERE to tell your elected officials NO US-ENGINEERED COUP In Venezuela!

“People Of The U.S., I Ask For Your Support To Reject The Interference Of Donald Trump’s Government In Making My Homeland A Vietnam In Latin America. Don’t Allow It!”  President Nicolas Maduro, January 31, 2017.

Saturday, March 16, 12pm
White House, Washington, D.C.

Sign On As An Endorser Here!

On Saturday, March 16, thousands of people will march in Washington, D.C. against the Trump administration’s effort to engineer a coup in Venezuela and a new devastating war there. The aggressive policy against Venezuela repeats the ugly pattern of wars for regime change in the oil-rich countries of Iraq and Libya. National Security Advisor John Bolton is reading from the same script, declaring a “troika of tyranny” in Latin America (like the “axis of evil”) as a precursor for…
